The history of electricity is a great human adventure, a scientific and technical epic, carried on by EDF for over 75 years. As the second most visited company in France, EDF welcomes more than 425,000 visitors every year to help them discover the adventure of electricity generation through a programme called "EDF Odysselec". This artistic, cultural and scientific programme is part of a long-standing partnership with heritage, culture and industrial tourism professionals. The Centre - Val de Loire region is an elixir of our country's landscape treasures and an exceptional meeting of its natural and historical heritage. Magnificent castles on the banks of the wild Loire, majestic cathedrals and lazy towns along the canals, citadels or perched villages, each season reveals the harmony of its natural parks, ponds, waterways and villages in new colours.

Normandy has a vast range of natural and cultural heritage. Some sites, such as Etretat, Giverny or Mont Saint-Michel are internationally known and attract visitors from all over the world. Others, more secret or unusual, such as the bells of Villedieu, the reconstructed towns, the white marshes of the Cotentin in winter or the "clos masures" of the Pays de Caux, are all nuggets that the Normandy Region strives to preserve and promote through its competences in the fields of tourism, heritage and sustainable development in particular.
The Region is leading several tourism development strategies on major themes such as medieval heritage, the D-Day Landings and the Battle of Normandy, and Impressionism. It promotes know-how by encouraging businesses to open up to the public, and supports the development of a more responsible tourism offer. It brings heritage sites to life with artist residencies and restores the prestige of towns destroyed during the Second World War through the Reconstructed Towns label. Heritage deserves everyone's attention and must be passed on to future generations.

It is with great pleasure and infinite pride that the Occitanie Region invites you to discover the exceptional heritage of its territory, photographed and presented in this unique place.
The perception of heritage has undergone a real transformation over the last few decades and new challenges have emerged. More than ever, it is a question of restoring or preserving without freezing, taking into account the immense diversity of this multifaceted heritage. It is also a question of taking into consideration its intangible dimension and integrating it into a territorial development approach rather than by monument.
If the perception of heritage has changed, the expectations of the public have also evolved with increasingly strong demands that must be met. Visiting an exceptional site means wanting tools to accompany the discovery. For the visitor, it is the hope of benefiting from additional content and educational workshops for an ever more unique encounter.
Faced with these developments, the Occitanie Region has chosen a strategy that will give impetus to both knowledge and restoration and to the respectful development of heritage.
